OneDrive has now being configured to backup the local "Desktop", "Documents" and "Pictures" folders. This step requires user interaction as our policy is to only use OneDrive and SharePoint.
The below message will show up on the first time you log onto a new computer. The folders are selected by default so all you need to do is click "Start Backup". This will then generate 2 folders in your OneDrive root folder. One will be called "Documents" and the other "Pictures". If you already have folders called this you may encounter some issues, we suggest you rename your existing folders to counter this problem.
Teachers: Due to your desktop restrictions you are unable to backup your desktops.
Admin, SLT and Support staff are able to back up the Desktop.
The folders that are backed up are as followed: Documents and Pictures. See below:
If you close this window or encounter any problems you can open the OneDrive client from the task tray in the bottom right-hand corner. You will then see a message at the top of the pop up asking you to backup your folders. Simply click the "Back up these folders" button. See below:
